What does it mean to live and work authentically?
It there an authentic self in each of us? If so, how do we claim it and know it and follow its direction?
Feeling authentic is living a life that's strongly connected to our beliefs and values. When we're connected in that way, we feel energized and alive.
To be authentic is to tap into our creative juices and recognize that we have the ability to affect new life and watch it grow and blossom.
We are living from the highest and deepest part of us and from our truest identity, which enriches us and adds so much more meaning to our lives, our work and our greater purpose here.
How do we tap into our authenticity and become truly comfortable with who we are and with the strength and specialness that define us ?

Finding Joy
Joy is found in simple pleasures. Acknowledge those moments when joy is present before they slip away. You may have to seek out joy, if it doesn’t find you.
Every day, joy is lurking just waiting to be discovered. In spite of busy lifestyles, pains and woes about money, relationships, health, the future and the present, there are pleasurable moments that can be yours. You can find joy all around you, if you remember to look.
Appreciation of those precious moments can soothe a headache, dissolve your work and life stress and make you pause to remember how really amazing each moment can really be.
Savor each bite of food and give your taste buds a heavenly treat. Food tastes much better when you chew slowly and pay attention to the flavors, the smells, the colors and the total presentation.
Look for inspiration in a poem or a quote that allows you to see the world, the weather, children, anything and everything in a different and special way from the ordinary today.
Practice moments of kindness. There’s nothing like seeing the face of someone you care for light up because of something that you’ve done or said. When you make them feel special or make their lives a little easier, you feel good, too.

Keep on Trucking:
You've heard about the many success stories of individuals who have never given up even in the bleakest situations. Your ability to hold tight and be persistent regardless of the odds can pay off.
After careful examination and with a discerning eye, if you still decide to follow a certain course of action, do so with certainty.
Follow your heart with gusto and let your enthusiasm be felt and heard.
If you’ve veered off-track, don’t wallow in self-pity and don’t beat yourself up. That’s a sure way to keep you in a tailspin.
Instead, brush off your injured ego and keep on going. You’ll never wonder what could happen if you kept your dream alive, no matter how great or small it is.
When we're on track track with our dreams and in sych with who we really are, we feel and are filled with energy, enthusiasm and pride.

Take Your Commitments Seriously!
Think before you agree to do something and that includes the promises that you make to yourself. If you aren’t sure you can deliver to another person, whether it’s getting a report done or an evening out, don’t brag that you can. We value how others see us. When you’re known as the kind of person who is true to his or her word, your value increases in the eyes of others.
When that happens, you feel better about you. It’s really okay to be sincere with other people, be they customers or team members. I believe it’s a necessity in getting ahead in business and in your personal relationships. Consider how you want to be thought of and act accordingly, even if you have to learn to say no and NOT feel guilty about doing so.
The commitments that you make to yourself are just as important as the commitments made to others. If you tell yourself you're going to tackle a task or a project, do it. It's inaccurate to think those promises or commitments don't count because they're made only to you. The internal and external messages you give to yourself are reflected in your action or inaction.
You evalutate and judge yourself all the time based on what you do. We can be fiercely self-critical of what we see. Your internal critic doesn't need more fuel to hammer you with. Don't be seen as a slouch, with good intentions, but poor follow-through. When it comes to you, be the person, parent, partner, friend, manager or entrepreneur that you can admire.

The Power to Change
Why Bother?
The ritual of making and breaking New Year’s resolutions has been around for some time. What compels us to even think about doing something differently or being different? The desire to better ourselves and the capacity for personal dreaming and goal reaching are as natural to us as breathing.
We strive to strip away extra pounds, be more positive and caring in our key relationships, jump ahead in our careers and feel more satisfied in our lives. Yet sometimes, no matter how much we want to make changes in one area of our life, something misses and we’re sadly defeated in the first round. But that doesn’t have to be your way anymore.
Here's an important tip to help you toward successful change and self-improvement that's easy to include in your busy lifestyle.
Believe: You need it.
Sure, you’ve heard it before. Why do so many business leaders and
motivational speakers talk about its wallop? That’s simple, because it works. And you need to have it. Even if you suffer from low self-esteem or lack of drive, you can change that.
And here’s how. Pay attention to how you talk to yourself in your head when you think even you’re not listening. Those silent or crashing messages tell a lot about how you feel about you.
You can make up other messages or positive statements called affirmations. Say them repeatedly over and over in your mind or scribble them down on paper but refer to them often.
Use your imagination to conjure up the attitude that the new beliefs you are installing in your brain like new wiring are all true. When you do, you take an important step toward personal change and personal growth that can be long-lasting.
