Power Your Life

There are so many ways that we can Power Our Lives. When I speak of power, I'm not speaking of gaining control over others. Personal Power is the ability to create what we truly desire.

It includes bolstering our relationships with friends, family, children, co-workers, bosses and our employees.

How we spend our time can minimize or maximize our personal power. The way we handle stress and pressure influences how we achieve success. In business and in our careers, how can we gain more control over our interactions and over our goals and what we desire to achieve?

Power is multi-faceted. You experience a sense of power when you feel and are in control of your life. Power is the ability to achieve your goals, have influence in your world and in your actions.

You have the ability to influence others when you feel a sense of personal power. I'm not speaking of coersion or force to get what you seek. That's bullying and to me, it's more often a sign of weakness than strength.

We have influence when we can communicate effectively and sincerely. People align with us because they value what we say and what we represent through our personal expression.

How we handle our energy and our internal and external resources impacts everything that we do. Creating confidence, releasing doubt, worry, procrastination or self depreciation can give us a boost in the right direction.

Personal power is about gaining personal mastery over ourselves and over any inner demons that interfere with feeling and being more in control of our lives. Defeating them can bring us more confidence and raise our self-esteem.

When we can experience optimism and enthusiasm and look forward to the events in our lives without dread or defeat - that's personal power at work.

Ultimately, when we know how to power our lives, we can enrich them and create more personal and professional success.

My upcoming radio show: "Power Your Life" will speak to the many ways we can gain that power to achieve more success in all the important arenas of your life.

I'll be interviewing savvy and informative guests and experts who will share valuable tools, resources and ideas to increase your personal and professional power - so tune in late October and find out more........

Measure Your Success

How do you measure success?

For some people success is defined as good relationships and valuable communication with family and friends-or with the boss and co-workers. For others, success is the attainment of goals they've set. Other people define success by their financial prosperity.

Whatever kind of success you're seeking to create in your life, think about these emotional atributes that can help you get there.

1. Power of attitude.

Feeling as if we can accomplish something, no matter how large or small, is a powerful factor to bring it into our reality. The ability to bounce back from challenges and not be deterred from your goal can lead to eventual victory. How you approach each setback, each victory, disappointment or reward is your attitude speaking. Make it speak the language of hope, determination and Yes and be unstoppable!

2. Choose confidence

Confidence is an internal feel-good response. You see yourself positively in spite of your flaws. Unfortunately, we're not automatically born with confidence. How you feel about you influences they way others perceive you. Figure out how to upload your confidence to zoom you to the next level. You can learn how to live more confidently by switching your view of yourself.

3. What's your self belief?

Confidence is a self belief that gives you the certainty you can succeed and achieve. When we have an unflinching belief in ourselves, we act strongly to go after what we want and hold tightly to make it happen. This creates an energetic force to attract more of the same vibration: success, determination, confidence and more.

4. Believe and Imagine:

You can create a feeling of confidence by imagining and believing what that feels like in your mind and body. Your imagination has the ability to create those feelings of confidence until you really can believe in you and in their truth. So let your imagination run wild and free in the fields and mountains of success and give yourself over to victory.

Grow Your Soul, Grow Your Humanity

I've recently read a quote by Joan Borysenko,MD, an expert in integrative medicine and in the mind/body connection. Here it is:

"To nourish the soul means to become kinder, more compassionate, wiser, and more loving, often through the making of difficult choices that foster growth rather than safety. The nourishment and growth of the soul is the very reason for human life"....Joan Borysenko

How are we nourishing our souls today? What choices are you making that may initially appear difficult, but on a deeper level are more compatible with your heart's truth?

I'm thinking of more ways to grow my humanity. Here are a few of them:
1. Simple acts of kindness
2. Finding beauty where it's hidden or forgotten
3. Living my values
4. Being a conscious co-creator
5. Recognizing and appreciating my specialness and the specialness of others
6. Living as optimistically as I can

When I do, life seems and is so much more on target with my soul.
