Stress Busting

All the knowledge we have about stress releasing techniques won't change a fast-paced holiday, or an overwhelmed frame of mind unless we use them. That's the challenge, because so often I have to remind myself and others to breathe more deeply, exercise and play soothing music that slows down a racing pulse.

Our lament is where's the time to fit in those so-called extras or perks? We need to etch out time for relaxation and unwinding; schedule it along with our other important responsibilities. Not because it's a chore. Think of the time as a necessary health and life enrichment activity. Your mindset about it makes a big difference.

I don't know what works for you to release tension. Now, there are so many kinds of stress busters available. When choosing one or two, pick the ones that give you the most satisfaction and release. Find an activity that meets your needs and time constraints. Participating in a yoga or salsa class is not supposed to add to your mounting stress.

Make it work, make it fun and make it often. It's a powerful way to balance your physical, mental, emotional and spiritual well-being. After all, aren't we worth it?
